Hi, my name is Clare Kutschera and I am the owner of The Craft House. I’m originally from the UK, and have been living in Switzerland since 2004.
My Story
I obtained my MEng in Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University and then trained as a Software Engineer and Software Tester.
I homeschooled my first-born until he was 15, and his little sister until she was 8.
I have always been interested in crafty pursuits, taking a silversmithing course in 2003, and regularly taking pottery classes between the births of my children.
I have taught myself to crochet, knit and sew, attended a sewing class at Ecole Club Migros, and exhibited a quilt at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, UK and one at QuiltCon in the USA.
I am the "Quilt Fairy" at Busy Needle quilt retreats in Morzine, France, and have taught craft sessions at Kensington English in Blonay.
